Brian Head Resort Wraps Up Longest Season In 60-Year History

Brian Head Resort, Southern Utah’s premier ski destination, will conclude its 2024–25 season on Sunday, May 4, with a record-setting 178 skiable days—the longest season in the resort’s 60-year history.

The previous record of 174 skiable days was set during the 2023-24 winter season. This season’s milestone was made possible by improved snowmaking systems, a dedicated team of employees, late-season snowfall, and the resort’s high elevation, which helped preserve snow conditions. Brian Head Resort was the first ski resort in Utah to open daily with top-to-bottom skiing, starting on November 8 and continuing through May 4.

Brian Head Resort also broke its visitation record, with more skier visits than any previous year. Beyond chasing powder, this achievement underscores that visitors continue to seek affordable skiing and snowboarding, fewer crowds, and an exceptional on-mountain experience.

To keep guests engaged throughout the season, Brian Head Resort offered a lineup of unique experiences, including free first-timer lessons, weekend night skiing, live music, an upgraded terrain park, and popular community programs like Ski with a Ranger. These events created a vibrant atmosphere that helped attract and retain a wide range of visitors.

“We’re excited to share that the 2024–25 season has brought the most skiable days and highest visitation in Brian Head Resort’s 60-year history,” said Amber Palmer, marketing manager at Brian Head Resort. “Thanks to our dedicated team, an early opening in November, and strategic investments in snowmaking, we’ve delivered our longest season yet — all while keeping skiing affordable for everyone.”

Lift tickets for the 2024–25 season started at just $19. All children aged 12 and under ski or snowboard for free at Brian Head Resort; no purchase is required, or blackout dates. The resort's employees, signature events, and outstanding terrain park made the record-breaking season possible. Special thanks go to the mountain operations team, who began snowmaking in September and continued through March 9, laying the foundation for an exceptional season.

Looking ahead, Brian Head Resort is now offering early bird pricing on 2025–26 season passes. The $99 Weekday Power Pass offers unlimited access one day a week, averaging just $3.80 per visit over 26 days.

The full-access Power Pass is also on sale now, starting at $349 for youth and $749 for adults. These passes include access to Brian Head Resort, Nordic Valley in Utah, and eight additional resorts across the Southwest and Pacific Northwest.

Following a historic winter, Brian Head Resort will transition to summer operations, scheduled to begin on Friday, June 13, conditions permitting.

New this summer, the resort plans on being open seven days a week during select periods. Starting June 27 through August 10, the Giant Steps Chairlift will operate daily, offering more opportunities for guests to enjoy Brian Head’s stunning scenic chairlift rides and lift-served mountain biking.
