Bretten Berg New Secretary General Of Norwegian Ski Association
The board of the Norwegian Ski Association has named Ingvild Bretten Berg (45) as its new Secretary General. Bretten Berg has held the position in interim since 1st September this year and has worked previously as Head of Department, Organisational Manager and Assistant Secretary General of the Norwegian Ski Association.
"The selection for the important role as Secretary General has been a thorough process, together with an external agency. Many good candidates were considered before the choice fell on Bretten Berg. She knows the organisation, the complexity and the system very well. She is thorough, fact-oriented, consciously aware of the need for openness and has high integrity” said President Erik Roeste.
"I feel privileged and lucky to do what I think is one of Norway's most exciting jobs. I really look forward to contributing to the development of ski sports, both in view of our member base and on developing the organisation to meet tomorrow's requirements. To do this we need a smooth, comprehensive and efficient organisation, which continues the good work done today, "said Bretten Berg.
Bretten Berg has spent her career at all levels of sport. She was the general manager of the Triathlon Association, a chain of training centres, and is actively involved in the sport as a coach, judge and electoral representative. She is the main trainer for an age-based Cross-Country training group in Kjelsås. For several years she also worked commercially in the media industry.
