Blue Tomato Opens First Shop In Frankfurt

The international board sports and lifestyle specialist Blue Tomato ( blue-tomato.com ) continues to surf the wave of expansion in Germany.

A few days ago, a new shop was opened in the center of the Hessian metropolis of Frankfurt am Main. The Austrian company already operates 32 stores throughout Germany. With over 750 employees and more than 450,000 products, Blue Tomato is one of the world's largest online retailers in the snowboard, freeski, surf, skateboard and street style sectors.

The new shop in Frankfurt is located at Fahrgasse 111, in the immediate vicinity of the Konstablerwache underground station, and has a retail area of ​​almost 230 square meters. Store manager Nils Hupfeld and his team are happy about the opening: "With the trendy styles of the big top brands as well as many new young brands, we offer the best selection of streetwear and snowwear, sneakers and accessories for women, men and children as well as the right equipment for our sports.”

Tara Kritsch, Retail Expansion Manager at Blue Tomato, emphasizes: “Due to the brisk expansion in recent years, Germany has proven to be one of the most important markets for Blue Tomato. With the opening, we are therefore taking the next important and logical step in order to be able to optimally reach our customers in Germany's fifth largest city. As an important economic and commercial center, Frankfurt am Main has a very large catchment area, and in the new shop we want to offer our customers in the region the best possible service locally.” 

Omnichannel retailer with a special service

The site blue-tomato.comregisters up to 125,000 visitors daily - and the trend is rising. The web shop has long been available in 14 languages. You can also order via smartphone, via live chat with the international Blue Tomato Customer Service, or directly in a shop if the product is not in stock locally. Special service of the omnichannel retailer: Customers can optionally have their online order delivered to one of the Blue Tomato shops free of charge and pick it up there. If an item does not fit, the order will be exchanged immediately in the shop.

Blue Tomato, founded in 1988 by the former Austrian snowboard champion Gerfried Schuller, has expanded its stationary trade considerably in recent years. The company, which is headquartered in Schladming in Styria, already operates more than 70 shops in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Norway and Finland.
