Blue Mountain Resort To Offer ‘Not To Miss’ Slopeside Dining

Blue Mountain Resort is a destination for avid snow enthusiasts with one of the largest snowmaking systems in the U.S., the highest vertical in Pennsylvania, one of the country’s largest and fastest snow tubing parks, 40 ski trails and 14 lifts. This Pocono Mountain winter haven is now also one of the best winter sports destinations for noshing, grazing and dining – before, during and après energetic time on the slopes.

 

This season introduces new culinary delights, such as the Bavarian-style courtyard of Brats & Beer Truck, La Colombe Coffee available at Summit and Valley Lodges and the new Wood Fired Pizza & Pub, replacing Cornerstone. These additions complement existing favorites like Slopeside Pub & Grill, Waffle Cabin, Tipsy Taco, Hoppy Trails, Street Sweets, Last Run Lounge, Trails End Bar and more, catering to the cravings of snow sports enthusiasts.

Following is a rundown of the appetizing dining options at Blue Mountain Resort:

  • Wood Fired Pizza & Pub is new this season and is an instant fan favorite. Delicious, warming, creative and flavorful, 12-inch artisanal wood-fired pizzas are making skiers, snowboarders and snow tubers very happy with special pizzas like Little Gap with garlic oil, roasted butternut squash, roasted shallot, zucchini, spinach, quattro formaggi, goat cheese and balsamic drizzle and Dreamweaver topped with pizza sauce, sausage, pepperoni, mushroom and quattro formaggi. There’s also Caesar Salad and Pasta Salad, Paninis and Garlic Rolls. For dessert, there’s luscious Chocolate Lava Cake. 
  • Every table delivers a thrilling mountain view window seat at American pub-style Slopeside Pub & Grill’s full-service, open daily restaurant – for lunch, dinner and après ski. Guests pair the Pocono vistas with Starters such as Southwest Steak Nachos, Fried Pickles, Creamy Crab Dip and Pretzel Bites. There are Bone-In and Boneless Wings with choose-your-own sauces like BBQ, Sweet Thai Chili, Orange Sesame Teriyaki and more. There is a great selection of Bowls, Spuds and Rings, Sandwiches and Burgers – French Dip, Elk Burger, Impossible Patty Melt and California Chicken Wrap. Favorite Entrees are Fish & Chips, Pepperjack Mac N’ Cheese, Beef Burgundy and Chicken Tetrazzini. 
  • For fun, whimsical and simple grabs, Street Sweets fits the bill with Funnel Cake Fries, Fried Oreos, Churro Bites, Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites, Corn Dogs and Hot Chocolate.
  • Hoppy Trails sports a draft list that includes excellent thirst-quenchers: New Trail Broken Heels Hazy IPA, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Yards Brewing Co IPA and Rusty Rail Wolf King Imperial Stout, as well as Magners Irish Apple Cider, Blue Moon Belgian-style Wheat Ale, Stella Artois Pilsner and more.
  • With its Bavarian-style courtyard, Beers & Brats on Burma Truck tempts hungry snow enthusiasts with The Wursts served in a torpedo roll – Nello’s Bratwurst, Kielbasa and Hot Dogs with topping choices of sauerkraut, pepper and onions, beer mustard and cheese sauce. The Best list offers German Potato Salad, Potato Cakes and Warm Apple Sauce. 
  • At Valley Lodge courtyard, another great choice is the Tipsy Taco Food Truck serving up $5 tacos or three for $13. Hungry folks choose their protein that comes on a flour tortilla with cheddar jack cheese, pico de gallo and sour cream. Of course, there are also chips and salsa and some Tipsy beverages such as Mango Margarita, Paloma and Modelo.
  • At Blue Mountain’s Last Run Lounge, ski buddies will want to share and try all the Starter temptations – Boneless Wings; Quesadilla with chicken, beef or pork add-ons; Loaded Tots with bacon, jalapenos and cheddar jack cheese; Big Pocono Pretzel; and Ultimate Nachos. There’s a yummy selection of Flatbreads including CBR with chicken, bacon, shredded cheese and ranch drizzle. In a Bowl selections are extra-warming after chilly slope time – Lobster Bisque, Peppercorn Bacon Grilled Cheese & Tomato Bisque and Blue Mountain Chili. Sandwich options please with The Cubano, BBQ Pulled Pork, Chicken Cordon Blue and Chicken Parm. 
  • Located in Valley Lodge, Trails End is the spot for sipping crafted cocktails and its curated selection of brews. Summit Café at Summit Lodge and Valley Café at Valley Lodge both have breakfast foods and beverages, sandwiches, fryer food like pierogies, pizza, bowls and salads. Tubing Café at the Tubing Center pleases with starters, pizzas, sandwiches, and fried chicken meals with great side dishes. In the Valley Courtyard, Waffle Cabin tempts with its freshly baked warm waffles topped with favorite choices.

Blue Mountain Resort is a year-round resort located along the Kittatinny Ridge in the Pocono Mountain region adjacent to the Appalachian Trail near Palmerton, Pennsylvania. Originally opened in 1977 as Little Gap Ski Area, it was renamed Blue Mountain Resort in 1989. With the highest vertical drop of any ski resort in Pennsylvania, it features 40 ski trails, 14 lifts, 29 mountain biking trails, a ropes course, rock climbing wall and more.
