Blizzard Introduces Stormbird, New Frontside Collection
Blizzard is proud to introduce Stormbird, an all-new collection of system skis designed to balance performance and approachability for beginner to advanced frontside/all-mountain skiers. Ranging in waist widths from 82 ($899) to 72 ($499), the collection is intentionally designed to bridge the gap between the frontside high-performance and more demanding Thunderbird and the all-mountain Anomaly collections, empowering skiers with confidence through every turn.
“Each of the skis in this collection have been thoughtfully designed for a specific skier, taking into consideration their ability, what type of terrain they likely ski, and what price-point makes sense for them. Our goal was to not only better serve frontside and all-mountain skiers by developing a more complete range, but to also provide identity and richness to a category that is normally treated as a commodity in the industry. We also focused on creating rich graphics and colors to elevate the perception of the collection.” said Blizzard North American Product Manager, Christian Avery
The vector model Stormbird 82 DTI features an all-new Trueblend Piste wood core adapted specifically for Stormbird to provide balance, edge grip, easy and intuitive turn initiation, and smooth tail release at the end of a turn. Composed of beech and poplar stringers at varying lengths, each core is adapted for the waist width to best suit the needs of that type of skier.
Two layers of Titinal deliver precise edge grip, stability, and control at any speed. At the same time, the Vibration Dampening System reduces chatter and noise, providing a smooth and predictable experience across various conditions.
More sustainably made elements have been worked into the construction, with tip inlays coming from Tecnica’s Recycle Your Boots program, bio-sourced pre-pregs, and water-based ink for top prints.
Construction, components, and materials strategically vary as the collection moves down through the price points. However, all still aim to meet skiers where they are and deliver accessible performance, inviting skiers to unlock their turn.
Stormbird will be available in Fall 2025.
