Bergbahn Kitzbuhel Welcomes Eight New Apprentices
The management duo of the Kitzbühel cable car company are proud and happy on the day of the welcome for the new young employees: By the autumn, eight new apprentices will begin their training as cable car technicians. The company will then employ a total of 18 apprentices.
Two years ago, the Kitzbühel cable car company stepped up its apprenticeship initiative and the first fruits can already be reaped: As part of the welcome day on August 6, the CEO, Anton Bodner, and the board member, Christian Wörister, welcomed six apprentices whose training is just beginning. Together with two other young men who will join in the autumn, they are completing their apprenticeship as cable car technicians. With the eight new apprentices, a total of 18 apprentices are now working at the Kitzbühel cable car company.
"It makes me very proud that young people complete their training with us. This cannot be valued highly enough, because apprentices are our future," says Mag. Anton Bodner happily. Mag. Christian Wörister also knows how important young talent is for the local economy: "For our region, the development of the mountains with cable cars is of great importance for tourism and the regional economy. The need for skilled workers in the cable car industry is very great and there are many and varied fields of activity possible, from technology, IT and administrative work to marketing."
Anyone who completes their apprenticeship at the Kitzbühel cable car will be trained to be an all-rounder: "Our apprentices should not only learn manual skills with us. We also have the responsibility to help and support our young colleagues in their entire development," says Mag. Anton Bodner, emphasizing the good future prospects that such training brings: "Anyone who successfully completes their apprenticeship with us is highly qualified for the industry. If we are also satisfied with them, there is a job guarantee. In addition, qualified employees are our managers of the future."
At the Kitzbühel mountain railway, it is possible to do an apprenticeship as a cable car technician or an apprenticeship as an agricultural and construction machinery technician. Both apprenticeships last 3.5 years. Anyone who chooses the dual apprenticeship as a cable car and electrical engineer only increases the training period by another six months. In addition to the operations and department managers, three apprenticeship representatives accompany the trainees and provide support in the areas of electrics, mechatronics and theory - should they need help with German, mathematics, English, etc.
"I am very happy that eight apprentices have decided to start working with us this year," says Anton Bodner happily. "This also speaks for the importance of our company in the region."
The Kitzbühel mountain railway's apprenticeship initiative involves regular visits to schools in the region, where the company and the many career opportunities are presented. Soon, there will also be a regular presence at career fairs and a tailor-made campaign will be launched on social media. Short clips, particularly on TikTok and Instagram, will draw attention to the diverse opportunities at the mountain railway.
It is equally pleasing that this summer six interns are working at the Kitzbühel cable car company - from IT, technology and marketing to accounting. "The young people are a great asset. This is something we live by throughout our entire company," says Christian Wörister proudly.
