Bartholet Gains Foothold In India With Urban Cable Car
In the presence of a 7-strong Indian delegation, the first cabin for an urban cable car in the north Indian city of Varanasi was unveiled at Bartholet Maschinenbau AG in Flums. A prestige project for the Flumser cable car manufacturer - and possibly the door opener for other such projects in India.
The total length of the cable car project is 3,660 meters and is designed for a maximum capacity of 3,000 passengers per hour in each direction. The approximately 150 panorama cabins "Design by Porsche Design Studio" with ten seats travel at six meters per second and connect five stations. In order to hover over Varanasi's existing buildings, the project requires 30 supports at a height of between 10 and 48 meters. The route is not straight, but in an L-shape.
This new urban ropeway in India is another piece of the puzzle in the Bartholet Maschinenbau AG success story.
