Bad Kleinkirchheimer Bergbahnen Gives Contract Extension To Sole Director Hansjorg Pflauder

The supervisory board of the group of companies unanimously extends Hansjörg Pflauder's contract for a further 5 years from July 1st, 2023.

On May 26, 2023, the Bad Kleinkirchheim mountain railways and the Römerbad thermal baths will start the summer season. The course for the coming years was already set in the past winter season.

Continuity and continuation of the value creation course

Hansjörg Pflauder, CEO of the group of companies since 2015, will manage the fortunes of Carinthia's largest single cable car company for another five years. “Under the leadership of Hansjörg Pflauder, the group of companies has invested around €30 million in the tourist location of Bad Kleinkirchheim over the past six years. Especially in times of multiple crises, there is a need for continuity and reliability for tourism service providers," explains Mag. Martin Payer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bad Kleinkirchheimer Bergbahnen.

Double-digit growth in first-time admissions in the current winter season

The balance of this winter season is more than positive. "Thanks to the very good snow conditions compared to other federal states, the many sunny days and the very good activation of the local markets, we were able to seamlessly follow the best pre-Corona year in the company's history," explains Hansjörg Pflauder. “My goal for the coming years is clearly the sustainable increase in regional value creation for the group of companies and for the numerous companies in the region. The replacement of the Bach lift and the associated quality improvement in the Bach ski school area is on the table for implementation. Further ambitious investment projects are currently being worked out in detail. The same applies to the rapid transformation of the group of companies in the direction of being climate-positive,” confirms the Bergbahnen board member.

Bad Kleinkirchheim golf course: Annual support contribution of around €150,000.
The golf season in Bad Kleinkirchheim starts at the beginning of May. For the past three years, the golf course has been run by an ambitious operator group consisting of the municipality, Bad Kleinkirchheim Tourist Board and local hoteliers.
Also this year, the Bad Kleinkirchheimer Bergbahnen, as the owner of the land and infrastructure, are making a contribution of around €150,000. It is only possible to have one of the first and most renowned golf courses in Carinthia as a tourist offer if the Bad Kleinkirchheim mountain railways provide the grounds, the structural infrastructure, the clubhouse and all the equipment free of charge.

With around 160 opening days in summer (end of May to beginning of November) and as the most visited destination of the Kärnten Card, the Bad Kleinkirchheim mountain railways with all their infrastructure facilities are also a magnet for visitors in summer. The creation of new experiences on the mountain is also taken into account in the investment plan. To name one project specifically, a walkable footbridge with water experience components is planned at the Brunnach reservoir.

Promotion of location attractiveness.

“All of our investments primarily serve to secure the location and make it more attractive. Especially in rural areas, tourism is the main source of income for the local population. The Bad Kleinkirchheim mountain railways therefore act responsibly, sustainably and see themselves as a key driver of securing prosperity. For current and future generations,” emphasizes Hansjörg Pflauder.
