Austrian Lift Co’s Invite You Again To Big School Ski Day On 11.12.
The successful "Go for Ski" format of the Austrian Cable Car Association is entering its third round next week: on December 11, all schoolchildren will receive a free day ticket for a ski area of their choice. A total of 108 cable car companies are taking part in the campaign, thereby sending an important signal for the promotion of young talent on the local ski slopes.
Skiing is and will remain young: 41 percent of skiers visit Austria's ski resorts as a family, the proportion of children and young people is increasing and is currently over 26 percent. At the same time, the Austrian cable car association is intensifying its support for young talent from year to year. One of the many measures is the "Go for Ski" school ski day, which will take place for the third time on December 11 in seven federal states. On this day, schoolchildren and their accompanying adults will receive a free day ticket for the ski resort of their choice.
"The school ski day has already become well established over the past two years and enables school classes to spend an exciting day in the snow together. It also brings young people onto the ski slopes who have had little or no contact with skiing up to now," says trade association chairman Franz Hörl, who also sees the campaign as an important stimulus for children and families with a migrant background. "We want to specifically arouse even more curiosity about skiing in this target group in particular. By using schools as an important social anchor point, we can succeed in establishing skiing and snowboarding more firmly and creating low-threshold and affordable access to sporting activities on our mountains," says Hörl.
