$26 Million Mt Perisher 6 Chairlift Progressing Well

This will be a season to remember at Perisher with the addition of the Mt Perisher 6, a brand new, high-speed, six-seater chairlift coming for 2025. Guests this season will enjoy a 44% faster ride time up the iconic Mt Perisher with its endless terrain options and awe-inspiring views. But it’s the ride down they will love even more as it opens up wider, longer terrain for more laps, more choice and more fun. “Perisher and Doppelmayr Australia teams have made great progress and I have been in awe of all they have achieved so far,” says Nathan Butterworth, Perisher Vice President and General Manager. “This will truly be a game changer for the Australian ski industry and we can’t wait for our guests to experience the freedom and options it will give them.”

Two TechnoAlpin Snow Factories arrive at Corin

Corin Forest has announced a major investment in the future of Australian snow experiences with the arrival of two new TechnoAlpin Snow Factories. This exciting new development ensures that Corin Forest remains a top choice for snow play and learning to ski or snowboard, even in the face of a changing climate.

As part of Corin Forest’s long-term strategy to provide consistent and reliable snow coverage, these new snow factories will allow Corin Forest to produce 200m³ of flake ice per 24 hours—nearly 300% more than their existing all-weather snowmaker, nicknamed “The Yeti”. These machines complement the fan gun technology used at Corin in the cooler months but do not rely on sub-zero temperatures to operate, allowing for more reliable cover and longer snow season. This significant upgrade ensures that guests can continue to enjoy the thrill of snow play and winter activities for many years to come.
The new Snow Factories are undergoing testing in preparation for the opening of Pre-Season Snowplay in April.

Charlotte Pass: Construction of new Guthries Chair Underway

This summer, Charlotte Pass Snow Resort kicked off the exciting construction of the Guthries Double Chairlift, a major upgrade that replaces the iconic Guthries High Speed Poma, which has been a staple of the resort since 1961.

The new chairlift will offer guests quicker access to the resort’s beloved advanced terrain, transporting riders effortlessly over the “boulder field” and straight onto thrilling runs, or the Guthries Chutes for the more adventurous riders!

Major Snowmaking Upgrade at Falls Creek

As part of Falls Creek’s ongoing investment in the guest experience, a major snowmaking upgrade on Drovers Dream has been in the works over the summer season. This included 12 new Techno Alpin automated snow guns to provide guests with more terrain and lifting access from opening day through to closing. It will also even out the flow of guests in early and late season by providing incredible beginner and low intermediate terrain options, including Drovers Dream, Main Street, and Australia’s longest green run – Wombat’s Ramble.
“The Drovers Dream snowmaking project will transform the experience for guests in the early winter opening up this amazing beginner and intermediate terrain for guests earlier than we have in the past”, said Richard Phillips, Vice President & General Manager at Falls Creek.

Enhanced Snowmaking Capabilities at Selwyn

This summer, Selwyn Snow Resort has enhanced its snowmaking capabilities with the addition of one TT10 and two TR10 snowmaking guns from TechnoAlpin. Set to be installed ahead of the 2025 season, these advanced guns will be strategically positioned at the top of the Wombat T-Bar and the Township Triple Chair.
This exciting upgrade will not only improve snow cover on the runs served by these lifts but also extend their operation throughout the winter season, ensuring more consistent and longer-lasting conditions for skiers and snowboarders.

It will also become home to night freestyle events and night skiing and boarding will remain at the Big D, offering both terrain park features as well as a regular ski run option.
