Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals, Cortina 2020 Motto “Always Play Fairly”
Since 2018, the Organising Committee of the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup in Cortina d’Ampezzo (ITA) has been committed to drawing attention to social and environmental issues through a message printed on the competition bibs. This year the focus will be on sportsmanship.
True champions have always been the best ambassadors, which is why Fondazione Cortina 2021 will convey important messages through visibility on television and photographs at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals, scheduled from 18th to 22nd March.
The idea of printing a slogan on the competition bibs was born two years ago. Since 1993, Cortina regularly hosts the Women’s FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, in 2018, the Organising Committee decided to heighten awareness about violence against women through the slogan ‘Stop violence against women and girls’.
In 2019, Cortina made the environment the focus: ‘Save our Planet. Stop climate change’ was the slogan printed on the bibs to raise awareness. This year, a new message will be printed on the bibs at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals: ‘Always Play Fairly’.
Respect, the fight against doping and sportsmanship are core values which allow the athletes to succeed thanks to their merit, skill and talent. The message is an invitation to be fair off the slopes as well, to other people and society, and to respect the environment in which we live.
These clear, meaningful words will come from Cortina and from the athletes competing on the slopes of Tofane. Sport and champions have always represented an important and effective means of communication, because they have a positive influence and a lot of followers.
