Athletes Switch Brands For Upcoming World Cup Season
Changing equipment is an almost obligatory part of a skier's career. Whether it’s for technical reasons, the end of a contract, a need for renewal or simply the desire to take on a new challenge, the ski industry is on a high speed.
After a season where the focus was on the World Championships, some athletes have decided to take the plunge and change their equipment.
Here is the list of significant changes in alphabetical order :
- Atomic While the Atomic brand is widely associated with superstars such as Mikaela Shiffrin (USA), Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (NOR) and Lucas Braathen (NOR), the #redster family is delighted to welcome Tanguy Nef to its ranks.
- Fischer Alongside the three slalom superstars, AJ Ginnis (GRE), Daniel Yule (SUI) and Dave Ryding (GBR), Fischer has welcomed a new athlete to the team. The Italian Simon Maurberger will now be skiing on the same equipment as the three slalom racers.
- Head Seven months ago, as the season got underway with the World Cup Opening in Sölden, the talented Meta Hrovat (SLO) announced the end of her career with immediate effect. After taking some time for herself, the Slovenian decided to give herself a second chance by making a new start and this with a new ski brand. After a year with another brand, Head has Mathieu Faivre and Camille Rast back at their side.
- Kästle The new Downhill World Champion Jasmine Flury (SUI) has decided to take on a new challenge and join the equipment manufacturer Kästle, which already supports the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec. The Kästle team is also growing with the addition of Roni Remme (GER) who will be making her comeback on this new brand after her knee injury last winter in Lake Louise.
- Nordica While the Nordica team is led by the Italian superstar Dominik Paris (ITA), Andrea Ellenberger (SUI) has decided to join the brand. The Nordica team is therefore getting a little bigger by welcoming the giant slalom athlete on board for the upcoming season.
- Salomon The blue family announced a few days ago their mutual agreement to end their partnership with the Swiss skier Camille Rast (SUI) and the 2021 giant slalom World Champion Mathieu Faivre (FRA). Both are very grateful for all the efforts provided by the team and feel ready for new opportunities.
- Völkl After more than 20 years with Fischer, Katharina Truppe (AUT) has decided to continue her career with a new ski brand. She is now part of the #racetiger team.
