Anon Introduces WaveCel Technology In Winter 2021 Helmets
Anon introduced its Winter 2021 helmet collection with WaveCel technology.
The Merak WaveCel and the Logan WaveCel helmets are the first snowsports models in its line designed with this head protection technology, which Anon has exclusive rights to in the snowsports category for the 2021 season.

The technology is designed to prevent snow-related head injuries.
WaveCel is a collapsible cellular structure lining the inside of a helmet and works like a crumple zone to absorb the force of impact before it reaches the head. To absorb the energy created on impact, WaveCel engages in a three-step material structure change.
- The cells flex to reduce the initial frictional forces;
- The cells crumple similar to a car on impact; and
- WaveCel glides to redirect energy away from the head.
“WaveCel is the first helmet technology to receive funding from the U.S. National Institute of Health,” said Mark Wakeling, global business unit director, Anon. “When it comes to snowsports, safety is our number one priority. The use of Wavecel’s collapsible cell structure material in the Merak and Logan helmets is evidence of Anon’s commitment to continually improving helmet safety.
In addition to WaveCel technology, both the Merak WaveCel and Logan WaveCel helmets include an in-shell Boa 360-degree fit system, Fidlock buckle and Polartec Power Grid fleece lining. Anon helmet models are compatible with Anon goggles and MFI facemasks.
