Andreas Gapp Appointed As New Chairman Of Vorarlberger Seilbahnen
Andreas Gapp (46) has taken over over the function of the chairman of the specialist group committee of the Vorarlberg cable cars and thus succeeds Hannes Jochum. Gapp was previously the deputy chairman of the specialist group and is a member of the board of the Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahn AG.
The members of the specialist group committee of the Vorarlberg cable cars elected a new chairman on October 7th: Dr. Andreas Gapp, member of the board of the Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahn AG, takes over the task from Hannes Jochum, who has represented the interests of the specialist group as chairman for the past two years. His new deputies are Mag. Christoph Pfefferkorn (Skilifte Lech Ing Bildstein GesmbH) and Thomas Lerch (Gargellner Bergbahnen GmbH & Co KG). Hannes Jochum will take over the management of the Tourism and Leisure Industry division in the Chamber of Commerce in spring 2021. “I see this as an opportunity for the cable car industry. My new role enables us to further expand the cooperation between tourism and mountain railways - which is currently more important than ever, "explains Hannes Jochum and adds:" I'm sure that Andreas will do an excellent job. He is committed and wholeheartedly with the cause."
Nature protection and fun skiing
The new chairman Andreas Gapp is a trained lawyer and began his career at Walser Raiffeisen Holding. Since 2016 he has been a board member of the Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahn AG. “As the new chairman of the specialist group, I am really looking forward to representing the interests of the cable car industry. Above all, however, I would like to make my contribution to creating framework conditions so that the cable cars become even stronger partners for their regions, ”says Andreas Gapp.
The previous priorities of the specialist group - such as the promotion of young talent or the compatibility of nature and economic efficiency - will continue to be retained. In addition, Gapp would like to focus more on the joy of skiing and the fun of exercise in the great outdoors.
“In the past we have dealt a lot with factual discussions. This is important. But we mustn't forget why we do it all: We want to give people moments of happiness. We provide them with top quality products so that they can have fun skiing and enjoy nature - summer and winter, ”explains Gapp. Gapp would like to place an additional focus on nature conservation. "Nature conservation must be understood as a topic that is not only discussed as part of a one-off measure, but as a process that accompanies us permanently," Gapp concludes.
