Andermatt Ready For Winter 2024/25
Andermatt is the answer to recent complaints of “too many tourists” in St. Mortiz, Zermatt and Gstadd. It’s a small Swiss mountain village, yet it has the 5-star The Chedi, Michelin-starred restaurants, a golf course, its own concert hall and an orchestra not to mention worldclass skiing, biking and hair-pin motoring. With the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn train (with an apres-ski bar), Andermatt offers 110 miles of trails and 33 lifts and boasts some of the deepest powder and best off-piste skiing in the world.
New for Winter 2024:
In December 2024, Andermatt will unveil a new main street of the Andermatt Reuss village, which will include a new restaurant, IGNIV by 3 Michelin-starred chef, Andreas Caminada, shopping, dining options and the delivery of new apartment buildings - 88 apartments in total. Spring 2025 will also see the completion MAYA a collection of residences and penthouses designed by Patricia Urquiola
The Andermatt Reuss village will welcome a special retail initiative called the 'New Swiss Design PopUp', showcasing sustainable and functional everyday products. This pop-up will feature three innovative Swiss brands: Dagsmejan, known for its performance-enhancing sleepwear, Muntagnard, which focuses on eco-friendly, timeless clothing, and Qwstion, which specializes in sustainable bags and accessories.
Together, they will highlight how aesthetics and sustainability can harmonize in practical designs. Alongside this, feinedinge.ch will offer a curated selection of fine items that reflect Swiss craftsmanship and regional creativity.
These brands will be joining Andrea Caminada's IGNIV restaurant, a new oupost of the pan-Asian restaurant chain Nooba, Swiss Watches, and other diverse shopping, service, dining, and leisure options along Furkagasse. This initiative will further enhance Andermatt's appeal as a vibrant hub of Swiss design and luxury.
The new Furkagasse in Andermatt Reuss is a vibrant and contemporary take on a village square, blending international style with a modern alpine charm. It's a dynamic meeting place where a variety of local businesses, world-renowned brands, exclusive boutiques, first-class restaurants, and cosy cafés come together to create a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. This new centre serves as a hub not only for visitors but also for the local community, fostering interaction and connection. Whether you're a resident or a tourist, Furkagasse offers a welcoming space that reflects the cosmopolitan spirit and modern essence of Andermatt Reuss.
Winter Ski Season 2024/25:
Andermatt boasts the largest ski area in the heart of Switzerland, offering an unmatched winter experience from mid-November to late April. For the 2024-2025 season, Epic Pass holders can enjoy unlimited, blackout-free access to the resort and in Crans Montana. Given that a lift ticket in Andermatt is significantly less than most resorts, it’s no wonder more travelers are choosing Andermatt for their ski trips.
