Alterra Mountain Co Names Kat Jobanputra Sr VP Of Retail/Rental

Alterra Mountain Company’s latest hire Kat Jobanputra has been named Senior Vice-President of Retail/Rental.

Kat has more than 30 years of experience in the resort retail/rental industry. He brings with him tremendous expertise in high-volume, multi-unit, multi-brand retail and business operations. He is also highly regarded as a strategic winter sports and sporting goods retail thought leader, skilled at leveraging merchandising operations, marketing, logistics, distribution, supply chain management, human resources and resort retail financials.

Through his consulting work and 14-year tenure at Vail Resorts, he has operated both de-centralized and centralized retail and rental resort businesses with an established track record of generating significant and consistent growth while creating strong strategic alliances with organization leaders. Over the course of his career, he has managed over 30 complex retail brands simultaneously and developed more than 40 retail branded vendor concept stores with industry leaders such as The North Face, Patagonia, Burton, Arteryx, Salomon, Quiksilver, Kjus, Helly Hansen, Marmot, Smartwool, IceBreaker, Oakley and more.

In his new role, Kat will be responsible for leading the retail and rental teams across Alterra Mountain Company and its family of destinations. He will focus on vendor relationships, partnerships and margin growth strategies, in addition to developing retail and rental programs and best practices for merchandising operations, visuals, replenishment systems, supply chain management, licensing, store leases, merger & acquisitions, store branding strategy, as well as rental systems, processes and flows.
