Alta Earth Day Celebration – April 14, 2018

Join Alta’s 9th annual Earth Day celebration in appreciation of another great winter ski season and all the natural resources, beautiful landscapes, and caring active community that Alta offers.  Alta Earth Day is a free event commemorating April 22nd with Earth Day Every day.  To pursue the Alta Earth Day’s motto building awareness and appreciation for the place we call Alta, the day’s celebration includes a well-rounded offering and introduction to environmentally conscious vendors and organizations, ski and snowboard recycling, and activities. Throughout the day there will be opportunities for people to get in touch with their wild side with a naturalist snowshoe tour, Tour with a Ranger, and Alta birding tour. Then après ski will be alive with a community gathering featuring the environmental ski film Guilt Trip by Salomon TV, as well as a fantastic opportunity drawing to support the sustainability efforts of the Alta community.

“This event speaks Alta, a fun casual gathering by Alta patrons to celebrate all that Alta provides by way of its natural environment, skiing, and community mountain experience.  It’s my favorite day of the season next to pow days” from the Alta Environmental Center’s manager and Alta resident Maura Olivos.

The Alta community is pleased to host the eco-minded vendors on the snow with demos and displays at Wildcat Base the day of the event from 9am to 4:30pm.  Featured vendors includeAuric SolarCoalatree OrganicsDPS SkisMomentum RecyclingPeterson Equipment –PistenBully1SolarMy Indoor Air QualityUtah Recycling Alliance, and more.
