Alpine Canada Fall Fundraisers & Web Auction Get Underway
Alpine Canada is on a mission to raise $1.5M in donations to support its teams and athletes for the 2018-2019 race season. To reach this ambitious goal, the organization is hosting three Podium Club fundraising events.
The inaugural celebration was held last night in Montreal at La Maison Olympique with an enthusiastic crowd of donors, sponsors, alumni, and fans. Local Québec athletes Marie-Michèle Gagnon, Valérie Grenier, Laurence St-Germain, Pierre-Elliot Poitras, Fréderique Turgeon, Britt Phelan and Chris Del Bosco were on site to thank the audience for their generous support, share Olympic stories and reveal their goals for the coming season. Alpine Canada now has its sights on the October 2 Calgary event held from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Edison Building. The casual cocktail eventing will feature Alberta-based alpine, para-alpine and Ski Cross athletes Trevor Philp, Erik Read, Jeff Read,Ben Thomsen, Morgan Megarry, Alana Ramsay, Kurt Oatway, Brady Leman, Kris Mahler, Kevin Macdonald, Abby McEwen, Carson Cook, Tiana Gairns, Jared Schmidt, Alexa Velcic and Antoinette Tansley. Calgary 2026 bid chair and Alpine Canada alumni Scott Hutcheson, will also be speaking to the guests about the exciting developments concerning the Olympic bid. The October 4 Toronto event taking place from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at The Spoke Club will also be highlighted by the presence of ski team athletes Erik Guay, Erin Mielzynski, Phil Brown, Declan McCormack, Sierra Smith, Candace Crawford, Manny Osborne-Paradis, Alana Ramsay, Kurt Oatway, Brady Leman, Marielle Thompson. In addition to athlete appearances, the season celebratory evenings will include alumni guest appearances, silent auction, official team retail product sales and networking.

PODIUM CLUB MEMBERS: ESSENTIAL FUNDING PARTNERS FOR ATHLETES’ SUCCESS
Alpine Canada’s Podium Club was launched more than 20 years ago and is comprised of passionate ski racing individual and corporate fans who donate a minimum of $5,500 per year to Alpine Canada. All funds collected through generous Club members are directed to support Alpine Canada, fund its high-performance athletes, and grow domestic ski racing programs.
