Alisa Camplin-Warner AM Appointed Chef De Mission For Australia’s 2026 Torino Games Team

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has announced the appointment of Olympic champion Alisa Camplin-Warner AM as Chef de Mission for the Australian Team to compete at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Ms Camplin-Warner will create history as Australia’s first female Winter Olympic Team Chef de Mission, just as she did as an athlete when she became the first Australian woman to win a Winter Olympic Gold medal, at the Salt Lake City Games in 2002.

She was previous Deputy Chef de Mission at the Beijing 2022 Games, Performance Manager at the PyeongChang Winter Games in 2018 and has previously been Chef de Mission for the Australian Team at the Innsbruck 2012 Youth Olympic Games.

Ms Camplin-Warner was elected to the AOC Executive in 2022 where she is Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and is Deputy Chair of the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA).

She has also been involved in Winter Olympic broadcasting as a co-host and commentator at Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014.

Ms Camplin-Warner has held numerous leadership roles in sport, including Deputy Chair Australian Sports Commission, Chair of the Australian Sports Foundation and Director of the Collingwood Football Club of which she is now Patron.

In her corporate career, she spent 16 years with IBM in senior roles across sales, strategy and delivery.

AOC President Ian Chesterman says the dual Olympian (Salt Lake 2002, Torino 2006) will bring extraordinary experience to the Australian Team in 2026.

“Alisa is one of Australia’s sporting greats who has continued to make an outstanding contribution to Australian sport since her retirement as an athlete.

“She has been part of the leadership team at the past two Winter Games with Beijing 2022 proving to be the high mark for Australian winter sport with a record four medals and numerous results just off the podium.

“Alisa understands high performance and she understands how to create a positive Team culture. Most importantly she cares deeply about our athletes and the challenges they face to get to an Olympic Games and compete at the highest level,” Mr Chesterman said

Ms Camplin-Warner says the athletes are her priority.

“I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and thrilled to be working with all our Winter Sports, coaches and athletes. Collectively we’ve built and strong and proud winter history in Australia, and we look forward to enhancing this legacy together,” she said.

“Our athletes have made huge sacrifices and invested so much of their lives to represent their country. I want to honour everything they committed – physically, mentally and emotionally – to give each athlete the best Olympic performance opportunity possible.

“Ultimately, it’s about creating an environment that allows everyone to deliver their full potential and feel part of a wonderful Australian Team. The Milano-Cortina Games will see a wide spread of venues that will certainly stretch us, but we will be ready for the challenges,” she concluded.

Snow Australia CEO welcomed the appointment of Camplin-Warner to lead the 2026 team.

"Alisa is a pioneer in Australian snowsport and is hugely respected by athletes past and present," said Michael Kennedy, Snow Australia CEO. "She has remained a presence within the sport since retirement and is well-known by the current athlete cohort, particularly through her roles in PyeongChang and Beijing.

"She is a champion of not just Australian winter sports but the entire Olympic movement and will be a wonderful leader of the team in Milano-Cortina."
