AliKats Mountain Holidays Adds Two Brand-new Chalets To Collection

AliKats Mountain Holidays has added two brand-new self-catered chalets to its elegant collection in Morzine, France, bringing the company’s total number of chalets to 13.

Both Chalet Melodie (sleeping 11) and Chalet Harmonie (sleeping 10) will open for skiers and snowboarders in December 2019, ready for the up-coming winter season. Nestled in the centre of Morzine, just 90 minutes’ drive from Geneva airport, the neighbouring chalets will be minutes from the nearest supermarket, café and shops, and within walking distance of the Super Morzine gondola.

Finished with grey stone and natural dark brown aged wood, materials typical of the Savoyard area, the two chalets will feature fantastic living spaces, en-suite bathrooms, ski and boot rooms, Wi-Fi and TVs with Netflix inside, plus both will have a large terrace with a warming hot tub outside. Chalet Melodie and Chalet Harmonie will also have sizeable garages, meaning anyone who has made the journey by car will not have to worry about digging their vehicle out after a particularly snowy week. 

Even more importantly, Melodie and Harmonie will use 100% renewable energy thanks to air source pumps for heating and hot water and hydro-electric power from the electricity provider. This forges the way for Al and Kat (founders and co-owners of AliKats Mountain Holidays) to fulfil their pledge that by the end of the 2019/20 ski season, all their chalets will be using electricity from 100% renewable energy sources. 

Minutes from the very centre of Morzine (on foot), Chalet Melodie (sleeping 11) is set to be a real crowd pleaser. The main living space is on the upper floor, so guests can make the most of the spectacular Alpine views from the large terrace and outdoor hot tub.

The kitchen area, which has all the modern conveniences, and more, sweeps around into the living room; creating a welcoming atmosphere for couples, friends and families.

After an exhilarating day on the slopes, everyone can make the most of the snuggly sofas or the even more inviting Jacuzzi (with a glass of something in hand). The dining table, which easily seats 11, lends itself to the convivial nature of Chalet Melodie.

Following a morish meal, retire to one of the spacious bedrooms for a good night’s sleep. Each of the bedrooms has a feature wall made of natural wood (from the region) and its own en-suite bathroom with a cool, dark grey polished concrete floor.

For bigger groups, Chalet Harmonie – located right next to Chalet Melodie – can be rented at the same time; guests can enjoy nine bedrooms of co-located living space.

Very similar to Chalet Melodie in design, Chalet Harmonie (sleeping 10) offers a slightly smaller place to stay with its own private outdoor hot tub.

Due to its layout, with the living area having its own floor, it is the ideal accommodation for families, when, having put the kids to bed, parents can watch a movie or enjoy more time in the Jacuzzi whilst remaining within earshot of the children.

As it is being designed specifically for AliKats Mountain Holidays – along with Chalet Melodie – guests can expect a stylish finish, with sumptuous sofas, soft rugs and squishy cushions. The big kitchen area features plenty of space to prepare and cook tasty local cuisine, or sample some of Kat’s mouth-watering dishes, and the terrace is a perfect place to sip a well-deserved beverage in the evening, after making the most of the Portes du Soleil ski area.

Each deluxe bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bath or a walk-in shower; there should not be any waiting around or disagreements when it comes to using the facilities.

Larger groups, or families, can book Chalet Melodie for the same week, making for a very sociable skiing and snowboarding holiday.

Although the two chalets will be self-catered, this does not mean guests have to miss out on AliKats’ renowned service or cuisine. Kat, who won the Morzine Source Food Awards three times (and is now a judge on the panel) and her expert team, can prepare delicious home-made two-course evening meals for those who want to sit back, relax and let the oven do the work.
