After Success In Austria: Uber Ski Now Also Brings Guests From Munich To Austrian Ski Resorts

Ready, set, go on the slopes: Uber, the mobility platform, is launching its Uber Ski service, which winter sports fans can now use to travel to popular ski and tobogganing areas at a fixed price.
- Uber Ski option in Austria now available from Salzburg and Innsbruck
- Skiers can travel directly to popular skiing and tobogganing regions at a fixed price
- Demand for trips to ski regions high even in low season – Zell am See most popular with Austrian skiers
For the first time, the option is also available in other European countries, including Germany. Austrian ski areas can now be easily reached not only from Salzburg and Innsbruck, but also from Munich.
"Last year we launched Uber Ski for the first time - with great success. Even in the off-season, demand for trips from Salzburg and Innsbruck to popular ski regions was extremely high, in some cases even up to 20 percent higher than in the high season. This year, we therefore want to enable Austrians and tourists to travel comfortably without their own car and are pleased that by expanding the option to other countries, guests from Munich can now also travel comfortably to Austrian ski resorts," says Martin Essl, Uber's Austria boss.
At a fixed price to the most popular winter sports resorts in Austria
The Uber Ski option offers a convenient solution to make getting to the slopes easier. No need to look for a parking space, no need to lug heavy luggage around - just get in and go. The vehicles are specially equipped to comfortably transport up to three passengers and their ski or snowboard equipment. Prices vary between 49 and 239 euros depending on the distance and are displayed in the app before booking.

Zell am See is the most popular Austrian ski resort
The demand for trips to ski resorts has risen steadily in recent years. The mobility platform's data also shows that Zell am See is the most popular ski resort in Austria among passengers. No other resort has had more trips arranged during the last two ski seasons. In addition, the Alps in Austria, Germany and Switzerland are a popular winter sports destination not only for locals but also for international visitors: In the current season, the British are making the most trips (to and from), closely followed by US and French winter sports enthusiasts.
Uber Ski goes Europe
Uber Ski is already in its second season in Austria and Switzerland. The option is now also being launched in other countries: In Germany, Uber Ski arranges trips from Munich to four German and four Austrian ski resorts, in France the service offers trips to the French Alps and in Sweden the winter sports areas of Åre and Östersund are served. From mid-February the option will also be available in Poland to the slopes near Zakopane. Uber Ski is even launching in Spain for trips from Granada to the Sierra Nevada.
