After Receiving 768” Of Snow So Far, Sugar Bowl Resort And Royal Gorge Cross Country Extend Ski Season Again
After receiving 64 feet of snow so far this season, Sugar Bowl Resort announced today it will again extend its winter season, offering an additional “Encore Weekend” April 29 & 30, 2023. The resort on Donner Summit plans to be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily through April 23, then reopen for the same hours over its closing weekend.
“With all this snow, we wanted to give skiers and riders more time to spend time in the mountains making turns and enjoying this historic snow season,” said Bridget Legnavsky, Sugar Bowl Resort president and CEO. “We’ve decided to spin the lifts for an Encore Weekend of fun. It’s an opportunity for us to thank our guests and staff, and enjoy the reason we are all here… the skiing.”
During Sugar Bowl’s Encore Weekend, operations will be offered out of the Village side of the resort, with the Christmas Tree, Mt. Lincoln Express, Nob Hill and Mt. Disney Express lifts spinning. Lift tickets will be available for purchase online in advance for $89 (ages 13+) and $49 for children. Day-of lift tickets will also be available at full-rate. Current passholders (including Midweek passholders) and 2023-24 Sugar Bowl passholders will ski or ride free, and the weekend will be animated with live music, fun and games.
Resort guests will continue to have access to ski and snowboard lessons, equipment rentals, retail and food and beverage offerings through the end of the season. In addition, the resort’s new tubing and snow play park, Sugar Rush, will remain open on weekends. Royal Gorge, North America’s largest cross-country ski area, will continue daily operations from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through April 23 and reopen for Encore Weekend April 29 & 30 with limited services.
