Action-packed 3rd & Final Stop Of Rock A Rail Ski & Snowboard Tour 2024 – New Tour Winners Crowned, 2nd Snowfest The Hague Edition Offers Winter Sport Fun For All

The Rock A Rail Ski & Snowboard Tour 2024 presented by Snowfest is a wrap! From December 6th– 8th, snowboarders and freeskiers from around the world gather in The Hague (Netherlands) for the 2nd edition of Snowfest The Hague with the 3rd and final stop of the Rock A Rail Ski & Snowboard Tour 2024. After stops in Thun (SUI) mid-October and Innsbruck (AUT) in November this is the final showdown of the tour; 50 riders from 19 countries come together in The Hague. Maria Estuu (ESP) and Tucker Fitzsimons take home the titles in skiing, while Telma Sarkipaju (FIN) and Leon Gütl (GER) claim the victories in snowboarding. The 2024 Rock A Rail Snowboard Tour champions are Paula Benito (ESP) and Leon Gütl (GER). Tereza Korabova (CZE) and Tucker Fitzsimons (USA) are the new Rock A Rail Ski Tour winners.

The Hague is the birthplace of Rock A Rail, this is where the success story started in 2011 and where the event grew from a small local snowboard rail jam into an internationally known in-city snowboard rail contest. 2024 marks the 11th Rock A Rail edition in The Hague for the snowboarders, the freeskiers return to the Dutch city for the 2nd time. In 2024, Snowfest and Rock A Rail find a new home at Koekamp, directly next to Central Station. Just a few minutes’ walk from Grote Markt, the original Rock A Rail location. Rock A Rail is known for its innovative, creative and challenging setups. Standing 43 meters long, 17 meters wide, and 7.5 meters high, the impressive structure features a unique setup, the so-called “Rock A Rail Cage” with distinctive features and a multitude of riding options, setting the stage for an unprecedented freestyle playground.

ROCK A RAIL SKI – The skiers kick off Snowfest The Hague on Friday, delivering a spectacular show. In the end Maria Estuu (ESP) takes home her first Rock A Rail win with some great skiing after landing on 3rd place in Innsbruck two weeks ago. Maria’s 270 continuing 270 on the down bar is super clean and the disaster 270 on the down flat is huge. It is her first year on the Rock A Rail Tour, so this is an impressive debut: “It was so much fun, I had the best time in Innsbruck and even a better time in The Hague. I love Rock A Rail, I will be back next year for sure!” Alais Develay (FRA) claims 2nd and Tereza Korabova (CZE) ends up 3rd. Tucker Fitzsimons is the big winner in the men’s category due to this variety and technical difficulty. It is super tight between him and Ryan Stevenson as both show sick tricks. In the end Tucker takes home the win as well as the Best Trick award with his super technical tricks like spinning both ways with right 270 pretzel 450 on the down bar and the left 270 pretzel 270 on the down flat down. Tucker is the only skier to hit the transfer in the competition which earns him the win in the end: “So much fun hitting the rails with all my homies.” Innsbruck winner Ryan Stevenson (USA) comes in 2nd and Mats Bjoerndal (NOR) 3rd.

ROCK A RAIL SNOWBOARD - It’s Telma Sarkipaju’s first Rock A Rail appearance and in her debut, she impresses with a great variety of tricks, including a perfect Backside Bluntslide 270 out, Switch Backside Bluntslide 270 out and an impressive Switch Frontside Tailslide 270 out. A firework of tricks that secures her first Rock A Rail win at her very first Rock A Rail contest ahead of Nata Sanchez (ESP). Nata is a regular at the tour and claims her first podium spot (2.). Hurana Suica Ishiara from Japan - competing for the 6th time at Rock A Rail The Hague – ends up 3rd. Telma is overwhelmed: “I had so much fun, the level of riding was incredible. It was great to watch all the women throwing it down. I am so proud of everyone!” In the men’s field Leon Gütl is the cleanest of all riders, sticks pretty much every trick, shows transfers from one rail to another, and a massive Gap to Switch Backside 270 to forward on the Kink Rail. Perfect execution, smooth, and lots of style. Therefore, he rightfully takes the win at the final Rock A Rail stop: “We were riding all day in the rain, but it was a lot of fun!” The Hague local Senna Van Drunen wows his home crowd and ends up 2nd with the loudest fan club-support on site. Casper Holtzapfel (NED) finishes in 3rd. A successful day for the Dutch riders at their home event.

ROCK A RAIL SKI & SNOWBOARD TOUR WINNERS 2024 – Congratulations to Tereza Korabova (CZE) and Tucker Fitzsimons (USA), the 2024 Rock A Rail Tour Champions in Skiing. In Snowboarding both Paula Benito (ESP) and Leon Gütl (GER) successfully defend their 2023 tour titles and take home the overall win also in 2024 for the 2nd time in a row.

SNOWFEST VILLAGE - Snowfest village is a key part of the event, offering winter sports activities of all kinds. For everyone and for all ages, really, with a focus on families. Whether your first time standing sideways on a snowboard for the youngest on or trying your ski skills on a simulator. On Sunday, young snowboarders and skiers who know how to ride rails, have a chance to hit the modified and adjusted features for an ‘Open Rail Jam’. Beginners can try their first steps on a snowboard at the bottom of the setup, while others use the landing for sledding on snow, a winter wonderland in the center of The Hague!
