Action Outdoors, the UK arm of not for profit UCPA, has launched an expanded programme of ski and snowboard holidays for young people for the 2024-25 winter season:
- Two separate programmes for 18-25 year olds and 18-30 year olds
- Huge expansion of programme after launching last year (310 holiday packages, more than double compared to last year)
- 18-25’s ski holidays start at £541pp for 7 nights all-inclusive (peak season £667)
- 18-30’s holidays have exclusive use of accommodation centres with prices starting at £551 all-inclusive
Like all of its holidays, the emphasis is on all-inclusive value for money in UCPA centres in some of the top French ski resorts including Val d'Isère, Val Thorens and Les Arcs.
There’s now over 300 holidays across the winter that are specifically for the 18-30 age group, with 18-25’s benefiting from even further discounting on price. All 18-30 Club Exclusive holidays mean the centres are blocked off exclusively for that age group.
UCPA was set up over 55 years ago (1965) to encourage young people to take part in outdoors sports. It has since developed into a not for profit organisation that provides sport holidays for a wide range of ages with a huge range of accommodation options. Each year over 240,000 people enjoy a sport holiday with UCPA, enjoying accessibility to outdoor sports regardless of social background, income or culture. UCPA also offers trips and tours to some of the best destinations for outdoor sports in 75 countries including Vietnam, Portugal and Brazil.
A total of 80 different sports activities are offered in UCPA centres all year round, including, skiing, surfing, mountaineering, diving, sailing and horse riding. During winter, UCPA centres operate in some of the top resorts in the Alps such as Val Thorens, Tignes, Val d’Isère and Chamonix. The holidays are always All Inclusive – lift passes, ski hire, all meals and guiding is included in the price. UCPA is the largest ski school in France and have their own instructor development program which allows young people to develop their career in sport instruction, whilst providing a strong base of instructors and guides to work within each centre for the whole season.
Prices start at £541pp (18-25’s) and £551pp (18-30 Exclusive weeks), including 7 nights full-board accommodation with breakfast, lunch and dinner, full area ski pass for 6 days, ski or snowboard rental and instruction.
There’s also ski and snowboard holidays with instruction for all levels with a particularly strong focus on beginners, but intermediate’s and advanced skiers and snowboarders can join groups at their level – the UCPA is the second largest ski school in France (after the ESF).
The full list of resorts where holidays for 18-30 year olds are available includes: Argentiere, Chamonix, Flaine, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Les Contamines, Les Deux Alpes, Serre Chevalier, Tignes, Val d'Isère and Val Thorens.
AnnaMai McDermott, Action Outdoors marketing manager, said: “When we launched holidays last winter exclusively for the 18-30 age group we had a fantastic response and now we have expanded the programme so that young people have a choice of dates across the winter including college and university holiday times. Skiing and snowboarding isn’t a cheap holiday but the UCPA makes it affordable and accessible for young people – it really is hard to beat and the legendary food buffet seems to get better and better every year too”.
