250 shareholders took part in the first shareholder day of Schilthornbahn AG in Mürren. At the information event, those responsible expressed their optimism with regard to the development of international travel. The highlight was the information about the planning approval granted by the Federal Office of Transport for the SCHILTHORNBAHN 20XX project. The former members of the board of directors Peter Feuz and Emil von Allmen were subsequently duly adopted.
A total of 250 shareholders took part in the first shareholders' day of Schilthornbahn AG in the Mürren sports center on September 23, 2021. After the General Assemblies 2020 and 2021 Corona only had to be held in the narrow circle of the Board of Directors, this event was the first opportunity for the shareholders to receive up-to-date company information at first hand. In their respective speeches, Chairman of the Board of Directors Johannes Stöckli and Director Christoph Egger expressed optimism for the upcoming winter season and assessed the development of international travel as positive. The recent significant increase in demand from the USA and the Gulf States gives grounds for optimism for an upturn in the international travel markets. The first groups from Korea are registered for October 2021. Those responsible also expect to be able to run the winter season with open restaurants.
As the highlight of the event, those present were informed about the planning approval for the SCHILTHORNBAHN 20XX project received on the same day from the Federal Office of Transport. All objections could be resolved and have been withdrawn. The Board of Directors will not decide on the exact construction program until its meeting in December 2021. However, it can be assumed that construction will start in spring 2022.
As part of the shareholders' day, Peter Feuz and Emil von Allmen were duly bid farewell. Peter Feuz worked for the Schilthornbahn for a total of 40 years. After joining in 1980, he was promoted to director just three years later and held this position successfully until 2012. Following this term of office, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors until 2020. Emil von Allmen was a member of the Board of Directors for almost 20 years from 2001 to 2020. The company thanks both gentlemen for their long and loyal service.
