Isbjörn’s Highly Durable Monsune Waterproof Shell Wins Prestigious Bäst-i-test Award
Premium and highly sustainable outdoor kids brand Isbjörn of Sweden’s highly durable bluesign® approved Monsune shell jacket has won a prestigious Bäst-i-Test (Best in Test) award.
The stylish waterproof and breathable Monsune shell is the overall Bäst-i-Test winner in the Premium category, with its “durable 15,000mm water column that withstands heavy rain with no leakage, and offers excellent value for money with its long-life performance”, as highlighted by the panel comprised of parents, teachers and the teenage outdoor enthusiast testers.
Isbjörn’s Monsune shell offers older children and teenagers (aged 10 to 16) the ideal mix of wet weather performance, style and versatility. It’s perfect for long days in the mountains, walking to and from school, or just hanging out with friends at the weekend.
After 18 months of continuous wear during the testing period, Monsune impressed the jury with its “wear-resistance with no visible marks from any abrasion” and they praised its longevity and excellent value for money: “Monsune can be used by several children in a sibling or friend group or sold on again and again. The usage time is long and the jacket sleeves can be extended by up to 3 centimeters to ensure maximum wear for each user.”
The annual test is organised independently by the Scandinavian Online Test Institute Bäst-i-Test, but it is the actual end-user teenagers who rigorously tested out various waterproof jackets in the rainy weather.
The jury commented: “Monsune can withstand the heaviest downpour while also meeting the style demands of the fashion conscious teenager, who wants to leave childish outerwear behind. The design is simple and timeless, which appeals to older children who spend a lot of time outdoors despite the wind and rain. Its adjustable design and well-constructed hood ensure a snug fit even when a little big, and the water-resistant zippers are easy to open and close, even with a gloved hand.”
The 100% PFAS-free Monsune is made from the most sustainable fabrics and finishes, including fluorocarbon-free Bionic Finish Eco durable water repellent treatment and highly durable Nylon Tactel, which offers exceptional tear and wear strength, and is three times more durable than regular polyester.
