Halti Introduces New Huippu Hybrid Jacket

When a piece of clothing appears on store shelves, its journey has begun years earlier. At Halti’s headquarters in Finland, the product development team has taken design to a new level with the help of 3D technology. This innovation enables a faster and more sustainable design process—without the need for excessive prototypes. Halti’s apparel designer, Miisa Lehmonen, has played a key role in driving this change forward.

We all know the favourite piece – the packable down jacket that’s perfect for every season. This spring, Halti is introducing an updated version:Some description the Huippu Hybrid jacket.

It combines the highly insulating properties of down with a technical fleece material, making it even more versatile and functional. The Huippu down hybrid jacket is the perfect choice for those seeking a more active alternative to a classic down jacket.

Combining RDS certified duck down filling with a fill power of 700 and Pertex Quantum ripstop fabric, this jacket ensures warmth and durability. The stretch sleeves and side panels provide enhanced mobility and comfort, making it ideal for active pursuits.

"3D is a big part of our work. Right at the beginning of the design process, we can test different patterns and assess the fit of garments on a virtual model. We see in real-time how the clothing looks in different materials or colors. This speeds up decision-making and reduces waste since we don’t need to produce multiple prototypes," Miisa explains.

At Halti, there is a continuous investment in new technologies that make design more precise and responsible. Digital tools allow for better decision-making from the early stages of development, helping to create even more functional products.

Halti’s garments are born from hands-on experience. An active lifestyle provides valuable insight into what makes great training or outdoor wear. For Miisa, nature and sports are not just passions but an essential part of her identity. She regularly goes to the gym, practices Pilates, runs, and takes long walks—exercise is her way of recovering and pushing herself further.

"Pushing my limits, whether at the gym or at work, is important to me. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, but through systematic effort, you move forward."

At Halti, sustainability is a key principle in design. Thanks to 3D technology, product development is more efficient and environmentally friendly than ever before. The use of new recycled materials and the courage to experiment with innovative solutions are among Halti’s strengths.
"It’s easy to propose new ideas here and develop even better products together with the team," Miisa summarises.
