59th Rope Race On April 13, 2025: Tradition And Team Spirit At The Cult Race In Hochfügen

On April 13, 2025, Hochfügen will once again welcome the traditional rope race. This event is a staple of the winter and has been delighting visitors for decades with its sporting ambition, team spirit, and conviviality.

In the legendary rope race for children and adults, teams of three, connected by a rope, compete in the giant slalom on the Waidoffen 11 slope. "The rope race brings people together and represents what Hochfügen is all about: community, fun, and a sporting challenge," explains Helmuth Grünbacher, Managing Director of the Hochfügen Ski Lift Company. This year, the race will once again be celebrated with a varied supporting program.

Race start: 9:30 a.m.

The day begins at 8:00 a.m. with the distribution of starting numbers at the 8-person Jet valley station. At 9:30 a.m., the children's rope teams open the race. Even the youngest skiers tackle the course in teams of three – always connected by a rope. The adult race classes start at 10:30 a.m., and at least one woman must be part of the rope team. The highlight of the day is traditionally the "Flotte 3er" (Flying Three), where diverse teams ensure plenty of fun on the slopes.

U1 Morning Pint and Winter Burning Celebration

In addition to the sporting competition, the U1 Morning Pint ensures a great atmosphere at the 8er-Alm. Younger guests will also have plenty of fun with the varied children's program, featuring games and activities. Traditionally, the day is rounded off with the Winter Burning Celebration and the final gondola ride at 5:00 p.m. The Night Owl Bus will safely transport participants and spectators back to Fügen.
