Pats Peak Hosts Vertical Challenge Race Series On Sunday, February 9, 2025

Pats Peak, in southern New Hampshire’s, announces its participation in the Vertical Challenge Race Series on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
The Vertical Challenge is a series of free casual ski and snowboard races held at various ski resorts throughout the northeast. Skiers and snowboarders are divided by gender and age to compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals in each category. The top three finishers in each category qualify for the finals, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025, at a resort to be announced.
The Vertical Challenge, presented by Chevrolet, family ski and snowboard 2025 tour includes 25 races at 24 different resorts across seven states. The number of events represents the VC’s largest total since 2015. All races are free with purchase of a lift ticket at the host mountain. All ages and ability levels compete on a giant slalom course. For the second season, the VC will utilize male and female skiing adaptive divisions for ages 12-and-under, 13-19, 20-30, and 31-and-up. Each age and gender category is further subdivided for those competing with and without special equipment. The VC will also once again raise funds for nonprofits who offer assistance to those in need. At events held in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, raffles and other fundraisers will benefit the state Make-A-Wish chapter. At each Vermont race, the proceeds will go to Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports. The Vertical Challenge races are free for participants thanks to tour sponsors, including Starry, Dermatone, Stonyfield, Olivia’s Organics, ALOHA, Northeast Delta Dental, Boston Beer Company, and presenting sponsor Chevrolet. The Vertical Challenge brings an extra level of excitement to a family day on the slopes. In addition to the races, attendees enjoy a festival atmosphere, featuring fun snowy activities for all ages and special giveaways.
The race is free of charge and racers MUST purchase an All Mountain Lift Ticket ONLINE IN ADVANCE for Sunday, February 9, 2025 at patspeak.com or be a Pats Peak Season Pass Holder in order to do the Vertical Challenge. PARTICIPANTS CAN REGISTER ON-LINE UNTIL 5:00PM NIGHT BEFORE EVENT AT ski-vc.com/schedule/competitors-2025/, OR ON-SITE THAT MORNING. Registration is open from 7am to 11am. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for registration. The Vertical Challenge Racecourse is open from 10am-12pm with a Vertical Victory Party and Awards at 1:30pm.
