Garaventa: First Chairlift In St. Moritz Retrofitted With AURO

In time for the 2024/25 winter season, the Marguns–Plateau Nair four-seater chairlift was equipped with the autonomous AURO-CLD system.

The AI-supported system from Mantis Ropeway Technologies, a development partner of the Doppelmayr Group, analyzes image data in real time, recognizes dangerous situations in the exit area and makes decisions within fractions of a second - from continuing to slowing down to stopping the system. Monitoring is carried out by a person in the Ropeway Operation Center (ROC).

In addition, the control system was renewed by Frey AG Stans and the seat cushions were replaced to increase comfort.
