AEP: Revolutionary Snowmaking Efficiency Increase On The Streif In Kitzbuhel

The legendary race weekend on the Streif is over and the AEP team is proud to announce a significant improvement to the snowmaking system on the world-famous Hahnenkamm track! Starting this 2024/25 winter season, the legendary race track, which hosts one of the most famous ski races in the world, can be artificially snowed twice as fast.

Thanks to targeted measures to increase efficiency and the extensive know-how of AEP employees, the snowmaking time is significantly reduced and energy efficiency is increased by an impressive 20%.

This groundbreaking project, implemented by Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel with financial support from the Kitzbühel Ski Club, includes, among other things, increasing the pumping capacity and installing a state-of-the-art cooling system. This will significantly improve the snow reliability not only of the Streif, but also of the Ganslern slope and the Kampen descent.

Kitzbühel says a "huge thank you from AEP to everyone involved for the outstanding cooperation and the successful implementation of this project! Together they we ensure that the Streif remains the epitome of ski racing"
