Sunkid Mountain Coaster 2.0: Bernex Celebrates Opening
Nicolas Rubin, 1st Vice-President, and Josiane Lei, both departmental councilors for the canton of Evian-les-Bains, traveled to Bernex to inaugurate the new four-season rail toboggan run. Located in the heart of the ski area, this iconic facility marks a key step in the town's tourism diversification strategy, offering a fun experience for families and visitors all year round.
“The year-round toboggan run is a real opportunity for the resort and offers a family-friendly and entertaining activity at any time of year,” is how the Département de la Haute-Savoie describes the latest attraction in the resort of Bernex (France). It represents an important step in the towns strategy to diversify tourism.
A project to promote tourism diversification.
Faced with climate challenges and the need to offer attractive activities in all seasons, the municipality of Bernex has committed to the creation of this rail-based toboggan run. Located on the snow front, it complements the existing offering by adding a new recreational dimension, even during periods of low snowfall.
A collective financial commitment
This project, with a total cost of 2.85 million euros excluding tax, benefited from significant support from the Department of Haute-Savoie through the Alpine Plan, with a total grant of 1.15 million euros, or 40.5% of the total cost. Nicolas Rubin , 1st Vice -president and Josiane Lei , both departmental councilors of the canton of Evian-les-Bains were present on this occasion.
A lever for local attractiveness
This new facility is part of the ongoing efforts undertaken since 2018 to modernize and revitalize the Bernex resort. It complements other projects supported by the Department, such as artificial snow equipment and the modernization of the ski area.

The Bernex 4-season rail luge is a real opportunity for the resort, offering a fun, accessible family activity, whatever the season. With this investment, the town of Bernex is strengthening its appeal and diversifying its offerings to better meet the expectations of residents and visitors.
