Celebrate The End Of The Winter Season With Aspen Snowmass

As the 24/25 season comes to a close, Aspen Snowmass celebrates another epic winter across its four mountains and 5,700+ acres of ski terrain. All four mountains host their own closing day celebrations, with delicious food, exciting DJ sets, fancy dress costumes, and even margarita blending bikes, visitors can attend one or all of the parties whilst enjoying the last few weeks of springtime skiing.

Buttermilk - 6 April.  Otherwise known as Bacon Appreciation Day, Buttermilk celebrates its closing day on 6 April, with slopes officially closing on the same day. Skiers and riders can start the day with bacon doughnuts from the plaza before exploring the mountain in search of more ‘bacon samplers’ available for the day from lodges, bars and restaurants. Visitors should make sure to stop by the Cliffhouse, Buttermilk Mountain Lodge and its après spot, The Backyard, for bacon specials, DJ sets and drinks to celebrate.

Aspen Highlands - 13 April.  Aspen Highlands goes out with a bang on 13 April and visitors should make sure they pack a fancy-dress costume for this final day out on the slopes. The locals come out in force to celebrate the season’s end and visitors are welcome to join in the fun. Head to one of the mountains apres bars, Cloud Nine and Merry Go Round, for drinks and DJ sets and close out the day with dancing at Highlands Alehouse. Make sure to take a break at “Picnic Point” during the day and enjoy views of Pyramid Peak.

Snowmass - 19 April.  For those looking to squeeze in one last week of spring time skiing head up to Snowmass, which closes out its season with Elk Camp Surf & Snow Beach Party on 19 April. Celebrating its seventh season, Elk Camp hosts a lively après party featuring live DJs, margarita blender bikes and hot tubs. Attendees can attempt to take on the pond skim challenge, or sit back, relax and watch others attempt to cross the pond on skis and snowboards. As the mountain celebrations wind down, the party heads to Base Village, where the music and festivities continue into the evening.

Aspen Mountain - 20 April.  Visitors can keep the party going into the final Sunday on Aspen Mountain. Don a funky hat or fancy-dress costume and get out and enjoy Aspen Snowmass’ final day with drinks and dancing in the spring sunshine at Sundeck. The locals celebrate with a race down the mogul field, known as the “Bump Off”, those taking part meet at the top of Ridge of Bell at 1 pm and spectators can watch skiers and boarders compete in the chaotic race from Gents Ridge. Finish off the day, and the season, at Ajax Tavern’s apres ski party on its sunny patio.
