Quebec Ski Areas Appoint Regional Leaders

At its annual general meeting held on September 12 at the Domaine de Thetford Mines hotel, members of the Association des stations de ski du Québec (ASSQ) elected their new board of directors. The outgoing directors were all re-elected and Mr. Philippe Boisclair, President of Ski Garceau, is joining the group this year. The leaders appointed by their peers will be responsible for ensuring that the organization's action plan is aligned with industry priorities. As such, members have determined that the ASSQ must support its members over the next year to step up climate change adaptation measures, assist ski resorts in implementing their sustainable development initiatives and further promote winter sports to the public.

The board of directors is thus composed of:

  • Jean-Michel Ryan, Mont SUTTON President
  • Isabelle Émond, Blue Valley Vice President
  • Nadia Pepin, Gleason Secretary
  • Luc Elie, Mount Rigaud Treasurer
  • Alain Beauparlant, Vallée du Parc Director
  • Annique Aird , Mont Tremblant Resort Director
  • Daniel Rochon , Bromont, mountain of experiences Director
  • Christian Dufour, The Summits Director
  • Philippe Boisclair , Ski Garceau Director

The iniski and inisurf Foundation at school, big winner of the ASSQ President's Golf Tournament

Following the ASSQ's annual general meeting, members were able to enjoy a round of golf under the sun at the Mont Adstock course, in the presence of a guest of honour, Ms. Geneviève Cantin, President and CEO of the Alliance de l'industrie touristique du Québec. The big winner of the day was without a doubt the Iniski and Inisurf à l'école Foundation. The virtual auction raised over $13,138 to this foundation to support various initiatives to develop the next generation of young skiers and snowboarders, thereby helping to introduce over 50,000 people annually across Quebec.
