Locals Set Up Company To Bid For Mt Bachelor

Following POWDR's sale of Killington nd Pico, a group of Central Oregon residents has announced the formation of a Benefit Corporation with the ambitious goal of purchasing Mount Bachelor Ski Resort.

“Over the coming weeks, we will list three of our ski resorts—Eldora, Mt. Bachelor, and SilverStar—for sale, with JP Morgan Chase managing the process,” Powdr representative Stacey Hutchinson wrote in an email.

The local initiative aims to ensure the future of the iconic mountain resort remains in the hands of the community.

Chris Porter and Dan Cochrane’s are pushing to acquire Mt. Bachelor and bring it back into local hands, though rumours suggest both Vail and Alterra may well be opening ther chequebooks.
