The cable for the new Rohrmoos I 10-person gondola lift has already been delivered, meaning that work on completing the cable car is progressing further. The cable pulling has now begun.

The cable pulling work is a central component in the construction of the cable car. This involves pulling and tensioning the necessary haulage cable.

Before the haulage rope can be pulled, an auxiliary rope is passed over the supports. Another, slightly stronger auxiliary rope is attached to this auxiliary rope, followed by the haulage rope. This construction is then pulled along the entire route over the roller batteries using a cable winch. It is particularly important that the cable is pulled evenly and carefully to avoid any damage or overstretching.

The cable pull was carried out in cooperation with the company Prommegger.

Splicing work

Once the rope has been pulled across the entire system, the rope is pre-tensioned so that splicing work can begin. During splicing, the rope ends are braided together to create a stable connection. This method is crucial for the safety and longevity of the entire rope structure.

The haulage rope was manufactured by Fatzer AG, which also carried out the splicing work in cooperation with employees of the Planai-Hochwurzen Bahnen.
