Wolf Creek, Opens Season Starts 22nd October, Beaten To First Turns By Mass' Ski Ward
Tuesday, October 22nd, will be the first day of the 2024-2025 Colorado ski season as Wolf Creek Ski Area will be open for 7-day-a-week operations beginning Tuesday, October 22, 2024, for its 85th Ski Season!!
They were beaten as first in the nation by Massachusetts' Ski Ward
The Bonanza, Treasure, and Nova Lifts will be operating from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, October 22nd, giving access to roughly 30% of the mountain. The Magic Carpet will be open for the Wolf Pup & Wolf Rider Programs.
Uphill traffic is discouraged at this time due to heavy equipment and snow-making operations. Lobo Overlook is a great alternative for skiers and snowboarders looking to earn their turns.
Wolf Creek received 5 new inches of snow overnight, bringing the storm total to 26 inches. The snow depth is 18 inches at the midway. Conditions are machine-groomed with early season conditions and unmarked obstacles. The year-to-date snowfall is 26 inches. Machine-groomed trails include: Tranquility, Bonanza Crossover, Navajo Trail, Summer Day, Divide Trail/Kelly Boyce, Powder Puff Valley, Thumper, Charisma, Bunny Hop, Nova and Susan’s. As usual, with more snow and winter conditions, more terrain and lifts will open.
Lift Tickets will be at Local Appreciation Rates; $68 for adults, $49 for seniors and $34 for children.
Ski School, Ski & Snowboard Rental, and Treasure Sports will be open. The Pathfinder Bar will also be open as well as the Continental Espresso Bar. The Upper Lodge will be available with limited food service.
To kick off Wolf Creek’s 85th Anniversary, Opening Day festivities will take place with skiers and boarders who are wearing the anniversary colors of red and gold receiving a commemorative 85th anniversary sticker. There will be fun events and activities throughout the season that offer skiers and boarders a chance to win prizes and swag. Visit the 85th Anniversary page for details.

Wolf Creek Ski Area is accepting applications for full-time, part-time and holiday positions in all departments: Lifts, Ski School, Food & Beverage, Base Operations, Ski & Snowboard Rental, Retail Sport Shop, Ticket Office, Accounting, Snow Reporting/Guest Services, Ski Patrol, Grooming, Snow Removal, Custodial Building Maintenance and Freelance Photographer. All jobs are winter seasonal (November – April). All positions offer skiing privileges and competitive wages starting at $19/hour.
