  • Olympic champion Victoria Carl is also taking part in the women's event
  • Ramsau am Dachstein has established itself as a "training center for the world's elite"

They currently find excellent snow conditions on the Dachstein glacier, and training sessions will be held here until October 23 and valuable cross-country skiing kilometers will be collected on snow. "The good conditions in Schladming-Dachstein have got around - around 400 athletes from many nations are currently training in Ramsau," says men's coach Michael Bonfert. "The trails are perfectly groomed. We can go to Finland for the final winter preparation phase with many good kilometers of snow. Our goal for the World Championships in Trondheim is to defend the medal from Planica 2023 with the men's relay. In addition, Friedrich Moch has the potential for a medal in an individual race." Foundation stone for a successful World Championship season Olympic champion Victoria Carl is also enthusiastic about the conditions on the Dachstein glacier: "For us, training on snow is very important in this phase of pre-season preparation. I am glad that we have such good conditions here this year." With the intensive training in Ramsau am Dachstein, the German national cross-country skiing team wants to lay an important foundation stone for a successful World Championship season. The athletes are optimistic about the challenges ahead, especially the Tour de Ski and the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway) at the end of February/beginning of March 2025. Training on the longest glacier trails in the world Regardless of the current snow conditions, Ramsau am Dachstein generally offers ideal conditions for cross-country skiing training. The longest glacier trails in the world are located at 2,700 meters above sea level. Up to 15 kilometers are prepared for classic cross-country skiing and skating - the Ramsau trail on the Schladming glacier and the Hallstätter trail on the Hallstätter glacier. The Dachstein glacier thus offers perfect conditions for successful altitude training. Cross-country skiing Eldorado Ramsau am Dachstein

Ramsau am Dachstein is not only attractive for top athletes, but also offers unique experiences for amateur cross-country skiers. With a total of 220 kilometers of trails, of which 125 kilometers are for classic cross-country skiing and 95 kilometers for skating, both recreational skiers and ambitious athletes will find their ideal route. The landscape is characterized by the mighty Dachstein Mountains, at the foot of which the plateau-like terrain of Ramsau is ideal for trails of all levels of difficulty.

Roller ski trail and performance center: perfect conditions even away from the trails

Away from groomed trails, a 5.7-kilometer-long and newly renovated roller ski trail in the forests of the Kulmberg also enables training sessions with different levels of difficulty and length. The town of Ramsau also has a performance center that can be used all year round. The centerpiece of this is a treadmill suitable for roller skis, on which Olympic trails can be imitated in dry training.
