Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn: Developments For Winter 2024/25

With the new Streuböden cable car, long waiting times, standing gondolas and changing at the middle station are a thing of the past. The employees at the lift can also look forward to a significant improvement in their workplace with the new, spacious station buildings.

B4 12er NORD and ski bridge in Hinterglemm

The new 12er NORD cable car promises an absolute improvement in comfort. The existing cable car with standing gondolas from 1989 is being replaced by a 10-person monocable gondola lift - identical to the 12er KOGEL cable car. The valley station is being moved into the valley and a new ski bridge over the main road provides comfortable and safe access directly to the two stations of the Hochalmbahn and 12er NORD. The climb is fast with a capacity of 2,600 people per hour. Once you get to the top, you have to make a difficult decision - continue on the Skicircus circuit or swing back down to the valley via the 12er Nord descent?

FIS Alpine Ski World Championships Saalbach 2025 - 4 to 16 February 2025

An international festival of skiing will be celebrated in Saalbach at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships from February 4 to 16, 2025. Together, as at the 1991 Sun World Championships, we will spark exuberant enthusiasm and provide lasting impetus for winter sports in the Salzburg region.

One mountain – all competitions

The focus is on the concept of "One mountain - all competitions". All races will take place on the Zwölferkogel. The World Cup slopes of all disciplines lead to a finish area - the Hexenkessel, which has space for 15,000 enthusiastic fans. The varied supporting program makes the newly designed village street the epicenter of the World Cup events.

100% skiing during the World Cup

Thanks to the state-of-the-art infrastructure of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, ski fans from all parts of the ski area can get to the races directly and easily on skis, as skiing operations will continue at 100% even during the Ski World Championships.

Sustainability

The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2025 in Saalbach aim to be a green benchmark for future sporting events. Among other things, the sustainability goals set are to be achieved with short distances, good walking access to all "event hotspots", all competitions on one mountain and a modern mountain railway and piste infrastructure. Furthermore, optimal travel options by public transport are planned and the possible sporty journey on skis to the races in Salzburger Land - with the opportunity to experience the races along the race track for free - is unique and corresponds to a green event. REDUCE, RE-USE and RECYCLE are important keywords for all the structural measures.
