Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau Invests € 4.5 Million In Modern Infrastructure

The Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau is one of the most popular ski areas in Tyrol and delights winter sports enthusiasts with its wide range of perfectly groomed slopes, modern lifts, a breathtaking panorama and cosy huts. With 113 varied kilometres of slopes, the ski area offers perfect conditions for families, leisure skiers and more ambitious skiers alike.

Investments are continually being made to further optimize winter operations and sustainably increase the attractiveness of the ski area. A key project is improving the snowmaking system on the Wiedersberger Horn and Reither Kogel. The Alpbacher Bergbahn is investing a total of 1.5 million euros this year, a large part of which will go towards the purchase of 50 tower snowmakers. This increases the efficiency of the snowmaking system by 20%. In addition, the new devices are more resource-efficient and use significantly less energy, which makes another important contribution to the sustainable use of natural resources. 25 snowmakers are already being installed for the coming winter season, the rest will follow next year. The improved snowmaking makes it possible to improve and expand the range of services for our guests. From next winter, there will be the new "KidsCross Alpbachtal" at the Muldenlift on the Wiedersberger Horn in Alpbach, as well as expanded training opportunities for young people. In addition, the snowmaking system will be expanded and the new technology center will be built in Niederau.

Attention speed fans! From the coming winter of 2024/25, the "KidsCross Alpbachtal" at the Muldenlift on the Wiedersberger Horn will be a new highlight for all fans of fast edges. Get into a crouch, get set and off you go on the fast-paced adventure - over the first steep curves and through the snow tunnel, where you will be cheered on by our mascot "Lauser". Then you race over the lower steep curves and the bumps, where you can shoot to the finish. Alternatively, you can measure your own speed in the SpeedCheck, which is located in the immediate vicinity.
In addition to the popular family highlights such as the ski movie course, the fun slope and the KidsRun, the new “KidsCross Alpbachtal” is another highlight in the Alpbachtal and offers fun and action for all little and big rascals.

In addition, the training opportunities for young skiers and skiing will be significantly improved, especially in the area of ​​the Galtenberg lift and on the Reither Kogel.

A new technical center is being built in Niederau with an investment volume of around 2.5 million euros. This new technical center will offer enough space to accommodate the entire fleet of piste machines and snow cannons at the Markbachjoch. Specifically, there are six piste machines and 58 snow cannons here. This not only enables optimal maintenance and storage of the equipment, but also ensures smooth and efficient winter operations.
