Gasteiner Bergbahnen Opens Pioneering Competence Center In Angertal
The Gastein mountain railways has celebrated the opening of their new competence center in Angertal after almost one and a half years of construction. This 1600 m² facility represents one of the most modern workshops in the cable car industry and marks a significant milestone in the company's 45-year history.
Gasteiner Bergbahnen is a leading cable car company in the Gastein region, Austria. With a focus on quality, innovation and sustainability, they offer guests first-class experiences in the Salzburg Alps.
The new competence center, which can be described as "Workshop 3.0", includes state-of-the-art facilities such as lifting platforms, service pits, storage areas and its own company filling station. It enables the Gastein mountain railways to carry out around 90% of all repairs in-house, which increases efficiency and minimizes downtime. In addition, the roof of the facility has been equipped with additional parking spaces for guests.
Board member Andreas Innerhofer explains: "After 45 years, it was time to invest specifically in this area. We have built up a top team of mountain railway employees, including professionally trained masters. This investment not only pays off in terms of quality for our company, but also directly benefits our guests."
The competence center serves not only as a workshop, but also as a training center. It offers optimal opportunities for the training of apprentices and the internal further training of employees, which further strengthens the team's competence. The Gastein mountain railways are one of the largest employers in the region and are pioneers in the apprenticeship in cable car technology.
A special feature of the new workshop is its power failure protection. In the event of a longer power failure, the workshop can be supplied with emergency power to ensure refueling options in crisis situations. Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG makes this important resource available to all emergency services. The police, fire brigade, rescue service and mountain rescue benefit from this precaution. This measure underlines the importance of the facility for safety and operational readiness in the region, and can provide relief in emergencies in particular.
For the guests of the Gastein mountain railways, this investment means a faster restoration of service and an improvement in the quality and efficiency of the facilities and slopes. The center also enables the expansion of services, the development of personnel development programs and the implementation of sustainability initiatives.
"With this competence center, we are setting new standards in the industry," adds Innerhofer. "It is not only an investment in our infrastructure, but also in our employees and the future of sustainable tourism in the Gastein region."
The opening of the Angertal Competence Center underlines the commitment of the Gastein Bergbahnen to innovation, quality and sustainability in the cable car industry.
