Carezza Dolomites Looks Back On A Successful Summer 2024

The summer season in Carezza Dolomites ended recently and the operators of the ski and hiking area at the foot of the Rosengarten and Latemar mountains are extremely satisfied. In recent months, many locals and guests have visited the mountain sports paradise in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site and experienced unforgettable moments. The summer highlights were also very well received by visitors.

Some of the cable cars stopped operating just a few days ago and are now being prepared for the winter season, which begins on December 7th. The Welschnofen cable car and the Tiers cabrio cable car were in operation from May 18th to November 3rd, the König Laurin cable car from May 30th to November 3rd and the two panoramic chair lifts Tschein and Paolina from May 30th to October 13th. They once again brought thousands of guests from all over the world, but also the local population, with a fabulous view of the surrounding mountains, but above all safely to their destination.

"We are very satisfied with the completed summer season given the circumstances. Despite the many rainy days in June, September and October, the stable weather conditions in July and August still attracted many guests and locals to us and we were able to roughly repeat the figures from summer 2023. The positive performance of the Cabrio cable car in Tiers is particularly noteworthy," says Managing Director Florian Eisath, looking back. The Carezza Trail was also very popular: the 4.4-kilometer-long mountain bike trail with 500 meters of elevation gain was ridden with great enthusiasm by domestic and foreign bikers. It is no wonder that the proportion of ascents by bike with the Welschnofen cable car is now over 18 percent, or almost a fifth.

Offers for the local population were well received

Kindergarten, primary and secondary school children from the surrounding communities received a summer season ticket for free use of the lifts again this year. The South Tyrol-wide cable car summer initiative with reduced prices for all holders of the South Tyrol Pass was very well received. Holders of the pass could look forward to a discount of 30 percent or more on single trips and return tickets for the various cable cars in Carezza Dolomites.

The summer highlights enjoyed great popularity

Also worth mentioning are the four highlights in the summer program, which were very well received by guests. These were the Rosadira Bike Days and the 24-hour trophy in June, the fashion show at the Laurins Lounge in July and the car-free day with the Family Challenge along the Niger road in September. On these four Sundays, 438 families spent a day under the Rosengarten and at the foot of the Latemar at a special rate. Initiatives that were primarily intended for the local population from the Eggental and beyond and were well received.

The Carezza Dolomites team is already thinking ahead. In addition to the winter season that is now beginning, which will begin on Saturday, December 7th, the employees of the hiking area in the Eggental Valley are particularly concerned about the safety of their guests, which can become a challenge given the increasingly frequent unpredictable weather events. The operators and their employees therefore invest a lot of time in training so that they can take preventive measures when they recognize unfavorable weather conditions and make the right decisions and measures in an emergency.
