Big Sky Resort Kicks Off Winter Season With Massive 1,500-Acre Opening
Big Sky Resort kicked off its 2024-25 winter season today with one of North America's largest terrain openings, giving skiers and riders access to more than 1,500 acres of perfect corduroy and powder stashes aplenty.
After an overnight snowfall of 6 inches, the sky cleared to create exceptional opening day conditions.
"It takes a village to get this mountain open, and I'm proud of the spectacular skiing conditions we were able to deliver today," said Adam West, the resort's vice president of mountain operations.
Tomorrow, the resort will increase skiable terrain to 1,800 acres and 70 trails with the opening of Powder Seeker lift and terrain in The Bowl.
Mountain operations teams will continue to assess terrain daily. Additional terrain and lift announcements can be found on Big Sky Resort’s trail status page.
