Silvrettaseilbahn AG Celebrates Successful Winter Season With Its Employees

The traditional Silvrettaseilbahn AG employee ball recently took place in Ischgl. The company not only celebrated the end of a successful winter season, but also honored long-serving employees. Another highlight was the company ski race held before the festive event.

Last winter, Silvrettaseilbahn AG employed around 700 people, making it one of the largest employers in Paznaun. Many employees have been working for the cable car for years and are partly responsible for ensuring that it is at the top of the ranking of the world's leading cable car companies. “In the 2023/24 financial year, we generated more than 100 million euros for the first time with railway operations, mountain restaurants and the Silvretta Therme, which ultimately means a new record in our more than 60-year company history,” says Günther Zangerl, board member of Silvrettaseilbahn AG. “Our employees have once again made a significant contribution to this; we can count on their reliability, commitment and loyalty every day. We would like to thank everyone for this at the end of a long and tiring winter season.”

Honoring long-serving employees

As always, well-deserving employees were honored at the employee ball. “This time we honored many employees who have worked for us for 20 seasons or more, as well as employees who have remained loyal to us for at least ten years,” said Markus Walser, also a board member of Silvrettaseilbahn AG. Last but not least, numerous neo-pensioners were given a dignified farewell to their well-deserved retirement as part of the festive event. “Our employees are our most important capital and appreciation and recognition are the central basis for sustainable corporate success,” says Walser. In addition to free accommodation, Silvrettaseilbahn AG also offers its employees a free ski pass for Ischgl/Samnaun, a wide range of leisure and further training opportunities and regular working hours without evening shifts.

Fun on the slopes together at company ski races

A highlight of the end-of-season celebrations last weekend was the Silvrettaseilbahn AG's annual company ski race. On the still wintry Idalp, cable car employees strapped on their skis and showed their utmost commitment. In the men's team competition, the “piste skiers” group took victory with a lead of 85 hundredths. Stefanie Salner took first place in the “women’s general” individual ranking, while Patrick Westreicher from Samnaun won the day in the men’s category.
