Liberec (CZ): City Council Approves Construction Of New Cable Car To Jested
The Liberec City Council has approved the intention to renew the cable car to Ještěd in the variant: a cabin on two cables in the extended route.
It is a spacious cabin that can accommodate 80 to 100 people and is suspended on two ropes. This form of cable car also received the most votes in a survey. An extended route has been approved, which will start at the tram's final stop in Horní Hanychov.
The city will now include the plan in the medium-term budget and prepare the tender documents for the selection of the developer. The next step is also to purchase the cable car and the property from Czech Railways.
