Cable Car Between Zermatt & Furi Now Offers Rooftop Ride

Experience a new convertible feeling between Zermatt and Furi. With its modern design and the passage through the round support number one for static reasons, it is an eye-catcher for visitors from near and far. From May 2024 it will impress with another highlight – the rooftop ride on the roof of the train for a unique convertible feeling.

The rooftop ride had its first use on May 2nd. While the parallel Matterhorn Express is being overhauled between May 2nd and June 15th, 2024, the new aerial tramway will transport all guests between Zermatt and Furi and will be in daily use. This offers the ideal opportunity to book the ride on the balcony of the train as an additional option. With a rooftop ride ticket worth CHF 10, guests can get through another turnstile, which takes them via a staircase in the station to the roof of the cable car. The journey between Zermatt and Furi then offers a unique and airy convertible experience with a view of the Matterhorn. The new offer, which is an optional part of the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing Route, offers another highlight on the cross-border cable car journey around the Matterhorn.

Even outside the maintenance times of the Matterhorn Express, the rooftop ride is a special experience over the summer months. The train, including the balcony, can be booked for a maximum of 15 people as an exclusive and private experience, crowning a unique occasion such as a marriage proposal with an unforgettable highlight.
