Prinoth - Switzerland Gets Its First Electric Snow Groomer At Flumserberg

Flumserberg ski resort in Switzerland (canton of St. Gallen), in collaboration with the Flumserberg Tourism Association, is testing the first electric snow groomer, the Prinoth Husky E-Motion, for grooming its cross-country ski trails and winter hiking trails.

On February 15, 2024, Rolf Blumer, Managing Director of Flumserberg Tourismus, reported on the experiences to date with the Husky E-Motion. Flumserberg Tourism decided to replace their old snow groomer which currently prepares 55 km of cross-country ski trails and winter hiking trails with our electric Husky.

In the interests of sustainability, they looked towards an emission-free snow groomer. Due to the fact that Prinoth has the only carbon-free snow groomer on the market it was an easy choice. The Husky E-Motion has been in use in Flumserberg since December 19, 2023 and is being put through its paces! The test will continue until the beginning of April.

The experience with our groomer and the fast charging station has been so far very positive. In addition to the performance of the machine, Rolf Blumer explains the necessity to plan differently: "We are now trying to plan the grooming sequence in such a way that we are travelling as energy-efficiently as possible. This requires sensitivity on the part of the operator and thinking and rethinking. The snow groomer has worked very well so far and we can recommend it for grooming with a clear conscience.”

Blumer also underlines that the Husky E-Motion runs extremely quietly and the quality of the trail is excellent. - the positive feedback from guests confirms this.
