Stadlober Re Elected As OSV President Unopposed

At the 88th regular ÖSV country conference in Feldkirch (Vorarlberg), Roswitha Stadlober was unanimously confirmed as president without any opposing candidates. The Salzburg native, who was the first woman to be elected to this office on October 13, 2021, will remain at the helm of Austria's most successful sports association until 2027.

"It fills me with joy to serve as president of a ski association that stands for credibility, trust, sustainability and success" said Roswitha Stadlober

With today's working meeting in Rankweil, groundbreaking changes to the statutes will also come into force, which were already decided at an extraordinary state conference at the end of November 2023.

The focus of the new structure is the installation of a full-time management body that will run the ÖSV's business in the future and take over the responsibilities and tasks of the previously voluntary executive committee. Secretary General Christian Scherer will head this management body. In addition to him, Sports Director Mario Stecher will also be a member of this management body in the future.

In addition to the honorary president, who chairs the country conference and the presidents' conference, the new statutes provide for three vice presidents, who, alongside the president, are the highest honorary association officials. Their tasks include general coordination activities and a representative role in sport, politics and society. Stefan Jochum (Vorarlberg), Alfons Schranz (Tyrol) and Michael Strugl (Upper Austria) were elected vice presidents for the term of office from 2024 to June 2027.

A new Athletes' Commission was also introduced, consisting of one or two representatives per Olympic discipline, to ensure regular communication between the athletes and management.

The 88th country conference of the Austrian Ski Association took place in Vorarlberg.

VOICES

  • Roswitha Stadlober (ÖSV President): "When I was elected President of the ÖSV in October 2021, I said that I saw this office as an opportunity to lead the association, which is so close to my heart, into a new era together with our team. I think we have succeeded. I would like to thank the state ski associations for the trust they have placed in me and it fills me with joy to continue to lead a ski association that stands for credibility, trust, sustainability and success as President."
