Eastern Swiss Cable Car Association Delivers Course On Safety Obligations In Summer Activities

This one-day training course at the Atzmännig sports cable cars was aimed at safety officers and those responsible for summer activities at cable car companies. The current guidelines "Traffic Safety Duty for Summer Activities (VSP)" from Swiss Cable Cars, which ensure safety during summer operations, were presented in a practical manner and key points were discussed.

After the welcome address, Walter Maffioletti, Head of Legal and Safety at Seilbahnen Schweiz, discussed the legal aspects. Roger Meier, Managing Director of Sportbahnen Atzmännig, then reported on his experiences with the VSP. The participants also received interesting information from Benedikt Heer, from the Accident Prevention Advisory Center (BFU), on the subject of planning, construction, signage and maintenance of mountain bike facilities. Roger Schmid, also from the Accident Prevention Advisory Center, gave a talk together with the Wegmüller planning office on planning and safety for play and public facilities as well as small bodies of water and bathing lakes. Romano Pajarola, Head of the Safety Advisory Center at Seilbahnen Schweiz, summarized the experiences from the audits at the end of the theory lessons.

For the final practical part, the participants were relocated to open terrain, to the rope park, to the toboggan run and to the public facilities of the Atzmännig sports track.
