Trail Running Paradise Fugen-Kaltenbach: Five New Routes For Every Level

Outdoor fans will get their money's worth in the Fügen-Kaltenbach holiday region in the Zillertal: "With our new trail running routes, we appeal to both experienced mountain runners and absolute beginners. The varied running paths are invitations to explore nature, enjoy the landscape and challenge yourself," says Manfred Pfister, managing director of the holiday region. The routes in various levels of difficulty offer the right challenge for both experienced mountain runners and those who want to become one.

Between Spieljoch and Hochfügen

The five new routes are spread over several mountains: Two of them start directly at the mountain station of the Spieljochbahn. On the one hand, the Kellerjoch circuit offers challenging climbs and technical passages - paired with spectacular views. On the other hand, a rather easy route leads from Spieljoch to Hochfügen. This trail is very suitable for beginners.

Three other trails start directly in Hochfügen: The Gilfert-Runde offers a unique combination of natural beauty and sporting challenge. On the 3-peak-run, runners test their limits and the 4-Almen-Runde is a real treat for the senses and the legs.

Hochfügen Hightrails Festival in August

The Almen-Runde and the Gilfert-Runde also represent a challenge for participants at the Hochfügen Hightrails trail running festival. The more leisurely Almen-Runde with around 5 kilometers and 221 meters of elevation must be completed at the BusinesstrailRun on August 10th. Here, both individuals and teams compete against each other and end the day together at a cozy after-race party. On Sunday at the HightrailRun, the challenging Gilfert-Runde (17 kilometers, 1,250 meters of elevation) is completed and offers recreational athletes and professional trail runners an attractive race that pushes them to their limits.
